MASTERFUL RETREAT REINVENTED

After two years of living in the brand new 10,000 sq. ft. Mediterranean ‘spec home’ in the hillside area of Pacific Palisades, my client was overwhelmed with the amount of maintenance required to maintain the painted southwest facing doors and windows and the daunting task of customizing the home to her liking.
Our challenge was to design a pergola to reduce the impact of the afternoon sun, and remodel the interior to meet her eclectic taste.
The solution that we executed was a pergola with a 14″ square profile stuccoed column, rafters and beams with corbel details to enhance the architecture of the house. The doors and windows were replaced with solid mahogany sashes with a marine quality protective varnish.
Crown moldings, coffered ceilings, fireplace surrounds, decorative iron gates and custom light fixtures were installed to customize the interior of the residence.
